HADITH ABOUT INCREASING KNOWLEDGE

This is the best Dua for gaining knowledge. The more proficient in religious matters you become, the greater your status will be in front of Allah (God). And certainly to Allaah only belongs all honor, glory, and sovereignty.

It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Umar (RA) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: I was sleeping once when a cup of milk was brought in front of me. I drank it until the intoxication (Sehrabi) began to show through my nails.

Then I gave my leftover milk to Umar bin Khattab (RA). The Companions (Sahaba RA) asked: O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! What do you Interpretation (Tabeer) by that? He said: “Its Interpretation is ‘knowledge’.” (Sahi-Bukhari |Hadith no 82).

This narrated was that Abu Dharr said: “The prophet Muhammad Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said to me: ‘Shall I not teach you some words which, if you say them, Allaah will benefit you by ten good deeds?’

I said: Yes indeed, O Messenger of Allah! He said: ‘Say: My Lord! Increase me in knowledge (Rabbi Zindni Ilma) three times” [A Saheeh hadeeth related by al-Bukhaaree and Muslim ].
