Do you know the Duas that are said to be Dua e Masura?
If you’re unfamiliar with the meaning of “Dua e Masura,” it means a dua which is from the Holy Quran or one that is told by Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (ﷺ). This type of dua is recited in the last Rakat of every salah (Namaz), whether it’s Farz or Sunnah, after immediately Tashahhud and Durood e Ibrahimi. In this prayer, the forgiveness of sins is sought from Allah (ﷻ).
Many people especially children face difficulties in learning this dua but this is not difficult to remember if we read 3 or 4 times daily it could be remembered in a few days. because it can be a bit long, but they can also recite other small dua until they memorize the full Dua e Masura.

Dua is a special prayer that is recited by Muslims. Dua is said to be the most effective means to get what you want from Allah. There are many Duas recited in every Salah (Namaz) whether it’s Farz or Sunnah during Tashahhud, after Attahiyat and Durood e Ibrahim.
The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) has also mentioned that there are many kinds of Dua and every Dua will be accepted by Allah but Dua e Masura is one of the most powerful prayers.

Dua e Masura in Arabic Text
اَللّٰھُمَّ أِنِّیْ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِیْ ظُلْمًا کَثِیْرًا وَّلَا یَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ اِلَّا أَنْتَ فَاغْفِرْلِیْ مَغْفِرَةً مِّنْ عِنْدِكَ وَارْحَمْنِیْ أِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِیْمَ
Dua e Masura in English Translation
O, Allah (ﷻ)! I have wronged myself a lot and there is no one who can forgive sins without you. Forgive me and have mercy on me. Indeed, you are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
Dua e Masura in Urdu Translation
اے اللہ (ﷻ) بے شک! میں نے اپنے اوپر بہت ظلم کیا ہے اور تیرے بغیر کوئی گناہ معاف کرنے والا نہیں ہے۔ مجھے اپنے پاس سے بخشش عطا فرما اور مجھ پر رحم فرما۔ بے شک تو سب سے زیادہ بخشنے والا، نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
Importance of Dua e Masura
Every supplication is very important in our life we can say dua changes our life and best act of worship. so, when we offer the prayers so must be read any dua in the prayer which is remembered. because the prophet Hazrat Muhammad (ﷺ) said the dua is the life of worship (Ibadat).
The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) taught us this Dua in order to help us ask for forgiveness from Allah (ﷻ) and also make our repentance more valid. This prayer has been narrated in Hadith Sahih al-Bukhari.
It is narrated from ‘Abdullah bin’ Amr that Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (RA) said to Huzoor-e-Akram ﷺ, “Tell me some of these prayers by which I pray to Allah in prayer”. Then Huzoor-e-Akram ﷺ said to recite this dua: (Sahih Al-Bukhari 6326). This prayer was taught by Muhammad to Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) who is very good at the Ummah.
Is it better if the increase in Dua e Masura for more benefits?
Most people asked these questions. But this question has a simple answer we cannot increase any word in dua and ayahs. It is better for every Muslim to act according to Hadith and Sunnah.
Is prayer complete without reciting Dua e Masura?
If there is a lack of time for praying or you do not remember this dua, or if the dua forgets to recite in prayer, then prayer will still be offered. This dua is not mandatory in namaz if you remember then you recite it for more benefits if you do not remember you can read other dua in namaz (Salah).
