Salat al-Ibraheemiya (Arabic: صلاة الابراحيمية; Prayer of Ibrahim), commonly known in South Asia as Durood e Ibrahim or Durood Sharif, is a prayer to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that was revealed by the Prophet (ﷺ) himself.
It has been mentioned in different hadith books like Bukhari and Muslim, where it has been mentioned that it is the best and complete form of salutations upon the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace. It is usually recited in a sitting position after Tashahhud.
In Islam, Durood Sharif is considered a highly recommended practice and is said to bring immense rewards and blessings to those who recite it with devotion and sincerity. It is considered a powerful tool for protection, forgiveness and success in all aspects of life.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ ❁
Short version of this durood sharif is:
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ❁
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ سَیِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِهِ وَسَلِّمْ
Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā-Sayyidinā Muḥammadin wa-alā ālihi wa-sallim.
O Allah, send prayers and peace upon Our Master Muhammad (ﷺ) and upon his Family.

Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammadin wa ʿalā āli Muḥammadin, kamā ṣallayta ʿalā Ibrāhīma wa ʿalā āli Ibrāhīma, innaka Ḥamīdun Majeed.

O Allah send peace on Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and to the family of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) as you sent peace on Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the family of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) Indeed, you are praiseworthy and glorious.

Durood e Ibrahim in Urdu Translation
“اے اللہ نبی محمد (ﷺ) پر اور آل محمد (ﷺ) پر سلامتی نازل فرما جس طرح تو نے حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام اور آل ابراہیم
علیہ السلام پر سلامتی بھیجی ہے، بے شک تو قابل تعریف اور بزرگی والا ہے۔
اے اللہ رحمت نازل فرما حضور نبی اکرم (ﷺ) اور آل محمد (ﷺ) پر جس طرح تو نے رحمت نازل فرمائی حضرت ابراہیم علیہ السلام اور آل ابراہیم علیہ السلام پر بے شک تو قابل تعریف اور بزرگی والا ہے۔
Meaning Of Durood Sharif
The word “durood” comes from the Arabic language and means “blessing” or “greeting”. The purpose of Durood Sharif is to gain closeness to Allah (ﷻ) and the Messenger of Allah (SAW) and to obtain the blessings and mercy of Allah (SWT) for oneself and others.
